Brief Description:  Begin prep of fuselage skeleton

It is great to finally get back on the project after almost two weeks off. I was kept away from tranquility base for a host of reasons, mostly getting prepared for a big trial. Now, the coast is clear and I am really happy to be down in the basement. Tonight I started the process of preparing the fuselage skeleton for the skins. I am starting at the firewall and working my way back. I deburred, smoothed,. scuffed, dimpled and primed two forward bulkheads that get riveted to the skin just aft of the firewall. I also began studying the plans to see what rivets are used on different skins. To my dismay, I found that I have dimpled several 1/8" holes when universal head rivets (not flush rivets, requiring a dimpled skin) are specified in the plans. The fix is not bad, however. I simply squeezed the dimple back out with the pneumatic squeezer. To flatten the skin a little better, I used a ball peen hammer and the flush riveting steel backing plate to tap the dimples dead flat. It looks like I will have to do that on the middle side skins also.
