Brief Description:  Fit the midship side skins

It was a big day today. After church, I dove right in, fabricating, deburring priming and riveting the little 3/4" filler plate for the forward doublers. Then, I drilled and clecoed the two gussets which reinforce the centersection to top longeron intersection. Next, I tackled the midship side skins. First, you have to curl the aft part of the skin around so that it will fit under the fuselage. You accomplish that by clamping the skin down to the work bench, then clamping two boards to the end of the part to be curled (I used two aluminum bars) and then strong arming it until you get just the right curl. It was not too tough. Next, I clamped the side skins to the fuselage and began to drill it to the longerons, the center section bulkhead and the aft cockpit bulkhead. I drilled about a zillion holes, some of which were supervised by Cookie the cat. My little drill sure earned its keep today. It is after 11:00 p.m. and I am thoroughly bushed. I will try to do a little more construction this week, but I will spend a few nights cleaning up the shop. This coming Saturday, I will host our EAA chapter for a project visit.
