Brief Description:  More work needed on the jig

I started off by starting to fit the aft coskpit bulkhead into the jig. To do that, you need to fabricate a 9 degree wooden shim to hold the bulkhead 9 degrees off of plumb (straight up and down). To cut the wooden shim, I had to move the table saw over to the 220 volt outlet. After cutting the shim, I was moving the heavy table saw back to its designated corner of the basement when I hit a leg of the jig with the moving table saw. The force of the blow loosened the grip of the jig from the concrete floor. I had fastened the jig (I thought firmly) to the floor with liquid nails. Well, after that glancing blow, 5 of the 8 legs were now moving freely. Caramba! After some fiddling, I got the jig moved back under the centerline plumb bob line (boy am I glad I set that thing!) but I will have to either re-glue the legs to the floor or figure out some other way of making it immovable. At that point, I began looking at the jig even closer and noticed that the longerons did not come into contact with two of the aft cross members of the jig. They are supposed to rest on all of the cross members. That got me thinking that my cross members must not all be at the same level. I cut them all from 2x4's to the same width, and they are all resting on top of the longitudinal boards which make up the jig. I thought that they would therefore all be at the same level. Well, I stretched a string from the front of the jig to the back, and I found two of the cross members were too high and two were too low. Double Caramba! I guess now I will have to remove the cross members from the jig and then either plane or shim them till they are all the same height. That will have to wait for another night. I am too pooped out tonight to deal with it.
