Brief Description:  Still working on the center section

It was a frustrating night in the shop. I started measuring the top flange of the aft center section for the slot for the crotch strap fitting, when I noticed that the nutplates I had drilled in this flange were not positioned correctly. After carefully examining the drawings, I learned that I had drilled the nutplates 1-7/8" from the wrong side of the flange. Normally, I would just drill in another nutplate, but, as you can see from the photograph, it would be too close to the old hole and would surely propogate a crack. Poo Poo. I will send an e-mail to Vans and see if they can help me pull my fanny out of this crack. Next, I fabricated the crotch strap fitting from .063" aluminum plate. That went well, However, the ox went back in the ditch when I started fabricating a control mount out of aluminum angle. When I started to drill the big 3/16" hole in the angle, it slipped off to one side, ruining the part. DOH! To add insult to injury, I cut another piece of angle to start fabricating the part again, and I used the wrong size angle. I had to quit, before I screwed up yet again.
