Brief Description:  Finished the fuselage jig

I came home from work a little early today and worked on the fuselage jig. I prevailed upon Bailey Cox, the kid across the street, to help me turn the jig over so that I could cut and install the diagonal brace on the bottom. Then, I screwed the legs onto the ends of the jig and put it on the floor. I had to readjust one of the legs to make sure that everything was level. That is the great thing about using drywall screws to put this thing together, you can always adjust something. Next, I screwed on the middle legs and the cross bracing for the legs. The instructions tell you to attach the jig to the floor, so I cut some 4" x 4" blocks, glued them to the floor with liquid nails, and then screwed the legs to the blocks while the glue was still soft. Hopefully, the liquid nails will keep the blocks (and attached legs) firmly to the floor. See photo 2. Next, I very carefully measured the bulkhead stations and clamped in the bulkhead supports with bar clamps. When both sides of each bulkhead support was exactly right, I screwed them into the horizontal braces. Last, I cut the triangular gussets from 1/2" plywood and screwed them to the cross braces.
