Brief Description:  Finished installation of autopilot roll servo

Tonight Sam Beale came over again and we finished the installation of the autopilot roll servo. First, we riveted the servo to the doubler plate with 5/32" flush rivets and then we riveted on nutplates. Then, the servo/doubler plate assembly was screwed to the wing rib with doubler plates on the other side of the rib. Everything fit tight. Next, we removed the servo arm and rotated it 90 degrees so that the servo movement would coincide with the aileron bell crank movement. Finally, we fabricated the pushrod which connects the servo to the aileron bell crank. After everything was properly fitted, we remove the whole assembly so that we can rivet the bottom skin on to the wing. We could not start riveting, however, until we decided whether or not we have to rivet the passenger fresh air vent onto the bottom skin before riveting it to the wing assembly. I'll call Vans tomorrow or put it on the Vans Airforce blog, to see what others suggest.
