Brief Description: Vick and I go to the Balloon Festival at Callaway
Vicki and I took the labor day weekend off and went to Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia to spend a few days enjoying the gardens and seeing the Balloon Festival. We arrived on Friday night and witnessed the "Balloon Glow" where the baloons inflate at night and the pilots use the hot air burners to make the balloon envelopes glow in the dark. It was quite a sight. The next morning, we watched the balloons launch for a cross country flight. We also took a teathered flight up to about 50' for $10 each. We had a ball and I got to help crew one of the balloons when they stowed the gear for the night. On Sunday, we toured the butterfly exhibit and the huge conservatory/green house. It was a great weekend.
