Brief Description:  Riveted aileron brackets to rear spar

Today, Saturday, I went to a Corvette auto show in the morning with Charles Hawkins, a friend from my Sunday School class. After I got home, I went into the basement to work on the plane. Later, Charles called and came over to see the project. First, I removed and re-installed the left wing tank to make the skins match up better. I am getting good at pulling and replacing wing tanks. Next, Charles came by and helped me lift the left wing off the wing jig and place it on the work table (cushioned by my Walmart plastic grass door mats. Next, I riveted the aileron brackets to the rear spar. There are only four brackets and probably less than 20 rivets, but that job was a real booger. Driving the 1.8 inch rivets was a real challenge. I had to use most every method available, squeezing and driving. I had to drill out about half the rivets because they did not set right. Finally, I got all the rivets in. Later, I took down the wing jig. The shop looks a lot bigger with the wings in the cradle and on the table.
