In keeping with my plan to make the right tank less messy to seal and rivet, I decided to tape up everything that is not going to receive proseal. I started with the tank skin, which I taped off with 3M blue painter's tape. It works well and releases without any residue, but it is tres expensive. To tape the ribs, I calculated that it would take several rolls of blue tape, so I decided to try something less expensive and easier to handle. I went to the RV construction section of Walmart and purchased some self adhesive shelf liner (you know, for the pantry) on sale. One nine foot roll was plenty. I then got some poster board and made a template for tracing out on the shelf liner. Hot pink was all they had left.
