I did not get into the shop today because I went to our February EAA Chapter 690 meeting. I saw Jamie Painter, who just ordered his engine and prop for this RV-7A he is really excited.Our featured speaker was Pauline Mallary, a 73 year old air racing pilot. She told us about learing to fly in a Piper Cub in the early 50's and then building a flying career when most people thought that women couldn't or shouldn't fly. In the sixties, she started flying the "Powder Puff Derby" womens air races. She has competed in over 100 races and has come in first in 10. She had some great stories. I bought her book, Racing in the Skies, and it looks to be a good read. What a great lady. We have a great aviation heritage in the United States. It makes me proud to be a fellow pilot.
