Brief Description:  cleaning up odds and ends before oshkosh

I knocked out a bunch of odds and ends today.

First, I put the Van's seat frames in, and covered them with folded moving blankets to simulate seat pads. I wanted to see if my rudder placement was okay. I was worried about it, but it's fine.

While checking it, I realized that the nuts and washers were never installed. Big problem. I installed them, but it meant getting under the dash with my big, fat, shoulders - no fun, but got it done.

Then I have been concerned that the hand grip controls are too tall and would conflict with the trottle/mix controls. They do. I thiink I need to shorten the control stic to clear these controls, but before I do, I want to talk to Van's.

Going to oshkosh this week, I am developing a list of questions for various vendors to make the engine forward work as painless as possible.

Sanded the windsscreen fairing to 220 grit. I am pretty happy with the way it came out overall. I am almost ready to pull the tape and fair out the edges. This was a very, very concerning process.
