Brief Description: prepped/primed/dimplesed and set top skin
I pulled the top forward skin out of storage. This skin, of all the sheet metal components always gave me the worst fit.
I deburred the skin on Friday, dimpled it on Saturday morning and primed it up. In cleco the skin on, I had to put some brackets on the panel. The brackets screw on, so I had to make up a jig adn paint the screws and clearcoat them to match the pane. I used my small HVLP gun and it did a really good job. I also pre-tapped the nutplates on these screws to make sure I didn't have to over torque the screws and mess up the paint. These scres are non structural, so I am not too worried about the looser fit of the nutplates.
On Sunday I had to help my daughter suzie move. This pretty much put a crimp on my plane work. However, I did pull up the windscreen and start to trim that out. I think it went real well, however, I am going to consult with van about some pictures of the results.
