Brief Description:  Working on plumbing

I have been very remiss in my log keeping.

August was hot as blazes, limiting my shop time.

Additionally, I really hit a snag on the fuel lines. The lines of a 9A go through the landing gear weldments. I went through 8 lines before I got one to work without crimping. The trick was to use a spring style tubing bender as a protective conduit as you work the line through th side of the airplane. This was the single most troublesome item on my whole build, thus far. I had to order a bunch of additional material, twice.

The brake lines were pretty easy. The fuel vent lines - not too bad. I am going to re-work a couple of brake lines. They are a little short for full rudder deployment. They would probably work as they are, but I don't want to stess the lines any more than I have to. I am not too crazy about the brake line design to begin with. Poly tubing, moving with the pedals - not too great.

At any rate, I am back on track. The finish kit was due to ship last week. I know Van's cashed my check.

I am making a checklist of all the stuff in the rear of the plan that I want to get done before I close in the the rear top skins. I am working with Sarasota to get some "rough-in" parts to help me along.

I am going to be more diligent with my logkeeping. No more long hiatuses.
