Before cutting the cable to length, I attached the assembly to one end. I trimmed the thimble so the nico sleeve would fit snugly against it (an EAA video showed me to do this and said it was acceptable). I then lightly tightened the nico sleeve in the press tool to hold it in place while I held the assembly together and pushed it tight against the sleeve. While holding, I tightened the bolts with a wrench. Thant's it. I did have to place the shackle in the assembly before tightening or it wouldn't have fit with the cable in the thimble. I then drove a small nail into my bench and measured out the length of the cablles I needed. Placing the shackle over the nail and running the wire out I then just added about 50mm (for the half loop and back into the sleeve on the side not yet built, then cut it with a rotary cutting tool (after wrapping tape around it). The plans say to make the other shackle assembly later. I did this for both right wing cables.
