I used some lightweight fake leather material from Fabrics.com (#0290398S) and 3M77 to cover the interior panels.
For the most part this work was uneventful, except when I got glue on my hands and kept sticking to the work...
Each part was done in two phases. First cut a piece of fabric with some extra left over and glue it to the visible faces of the part. Then trim to size leaving about 1/2" extra, trim the corners so they would fold over nicely, apply glue to the perimeter of the back side, and wrap the extra fabric around to fasten.
I did have trouble with the glue building up on the spray nozzle, eventually letting go of a "drop" which would soak through and show as a spot on the finished part. I solved this by wiping the nozzle with a rag after each pass.
I have some left over fabric, and I think using it to make the control stick boots would be a nice upgrade. I don't know how to sew, and don't want to learn, so I am having the new boots made at a local alterations place before I finish up these panels.
