Brief Description:  Painting Landing Gear and Glare Shield.

After somewhat of a marathon session getting the fuselage painted, I thought I would tackle a smaller project for the weekend.... It turned out to be about as big as any other....

* This was the first time I used the epoxy primer for metal parts. I am using PPG DPLF primer, which indicates one coat with 1/2 part acetone for flexible parts. On my first try I ended up with serious runs and lots of "speckled" areas. I let it dry/cure for an hour, and then tried to sand out the flaws, but it didn't go well, so I ended up washing it all off with acetone.

* For my second attempt I made a few changes and ended up with a successful primer application. - Instead of using grease and wax remover I cleaned the parts with lacquer thinner until the white rag I was using was clean, I tried not using the optional acetone, but it was too thick (orange peel), so I used 1/2 part thinner, but I used 870 reducer instead of acetone, and I used two light coats instead of trying to get full coverage with one coat.

I neglected to take pictures of the finished parts....
