I got the forward port-side access door installed. It's a 6061 CNC cut out kit for automotive use. I undersized the hole in the aircraft skin so I'd have a lip to install the weatherstripping to. I also used 3/16" rivets for the frame and hinge, as the kit was cut to be installed with screws rather than rivets.
I also installed in upper starboard tail skin, as seen in the second picture. I'm very happy with how it looks.
Lastly, I went over to Jon E's house, and picked up the control rod ends he welded for me, and he milled the slot in the pilot's control stick. As of now I have control rod end H3 and one of the airbrake arms to weld, and the passenger's control stick to mill. Then I can assemble the control armatures inside the fuselage.
