Brief Description:  Rear Spar Wrap

So that's done.

The skin wrapping around from the bottom of the fuselage to the aft of the rear spar is shown in the first picture. Pictured, is the first skin, which was then removed and discarded while I made a second skin. The aft spar wrap has to underlap the fuselage skin at F7, and in a fit of madness I tried fitting it in place that way. John E. nearby had already done it by overlapping, drilling, then repositioning on his aircraft. But I should be able to do it the other way.

Note to self; don't do that.

Oddly the upper wrap, which is bent eight ways to Sunday to make the start of the rear crew seat was much easier to do than the lower wrap. Probably this is a reflection on my not having any bright ideas.

My plan is to make a fairly substantial access forward of the upper spar wrap. That void in the middle of the pictures is where the air brake mechanism is installed. Just forward of that, and aft of the main spar is where the rear seat control stick lives. I'd like one big hatch that gives me access to all of those working parts.

An aside on the plans: control surface terminology. There is a large control surface that decends from the bottom of the aft fuselage. It is perforated with many holes for flow control. The plans describe this as a 'flap,' which is the best kind of correct. It is technically correct. In so far as a rudder, an aileron, or a fowler flap are all types of flaps that do different things. But c'mon. That there is an air brake.
