Brief Description:  Lower longerons and gussets

Really, this took place over the 27th and 28th. I just wanted to get a batch done before I stopped to take pictures.

Probably is a good time to note the ugly green color on parts of the frame. The aircraft is mostly going to be made from 6061-T6 aluminum, which is extremely corrosion resistant. As such, no corrosion protection is needed per se. And, I live in Northern California, where we've heard rumors of water and the mythical thing called 'rain,' but don't belive that it actually exists. As such, I'm probably in the clear as far as corrosion goes.

However, corrosion resistant isn't the same as corrosion proof, and there are airplanes flying along that are decades older than I am. Yes, this will be registered Experimental, but that doesn't mean that some fourth or fifth owner won't be flying this thing around in 2078. I'd really hate for a half-assed job I do in 2018 to endanger someone long after I'm gone. As such, I'm spraying a Zinc-epoxy corrosion protectant on wherever I could get water trapped between two pieces of metal.

Yes, chromate is a better protectant. It's also vastly worse for the environment. I'd really hate for a toxis paint job I do in 2018 to poison the water of a bunch of people long after I'm gone.
