First and foremost, I've decided on the Viking 90 engine for my CX5. The number of Vikings in the air and the amount of solid technical data and support available were the deciding factors. I still love Aeromomentum, and think they have great products, but there's just a lot more Vikings up there.

This lead to me revising my electrical plans, attached. This is some of Jan Eggenfeller's design, and some of Bob Nuckoll's designs. Rest assured, all the errors in between those two are mine and mine alone.

I've decided to locate a Garmin GTX345 used as I get closer to getting air under the tires. The price gap between a used all-in-one versus a pile of devices trying to do the same job wasn't thank much. And there's a lot to be said for small, lightweight units instead of lots more wiring.

Next question are the fuel pumps. Viking has a great design, with low amperage draw pumps in the fuel tanks themselves. Since the pumps have their own overflow, this means no return lines for the pressurized fuel to the injectors. And with two tanks and two pumps, I can drop the valve from between my legs (not a favorite idea) and use the pump power switches to toggle between fuel tanks. The issue is that Viking's pumps hang out of the fuel tanks by about 1-1.5", which means they'd hang below the wings by that amount. I could create fairing to try to reduce the airflow disruption, but I'm also looking at the Autobest F4224 In-Tank Electrical Pump. Autobestusa.com has lots of tech data on their products, and the F4224 pump shows 43PSI and 21GPH on 3.21Amps. At both first and second blush, this looks very good. I must say, I'm giving some through to buying one and running it in situ for a while to see how it does. I also think that running it past Viking will be on my to do list.
