Brief Description:  Brakes, Firewall, Seating

A couple of days work; not as much done as I'd like, but a reasonable amount nonetheless.

Brakes: The starboard side has been filled and bled, and it works great. The port side brakes have the high pressure line mostly run, but the F3-F4 area will need some revision. Basically, the starboard brake line is run very low in the sidewall, to avoid the rudder cables and the elevator control rods. The port side brake run has to pop up higher, as the port side sidewall doesn't carry the elevator control rods. It's got the aileron control rods, and those are way low. I'm working on fabricating some mounts to position the brake line where I want it.

Firewall: Both a nearby builder and I have decided to add a flange to the firewall. Per plans, the avionics bay and the engine cowling would both have to screw into the same 1/2" on the firewall flange, which doesn't make us happy. So I put together a flange to allow the avionics bay to attach to one side, and the cowling to attach to the other. The last picture shows the firewall sealant calking installed on the firewall. This will keep smoke, fire, and combustion products from infiltrating into the cockpit. Soon; firewall blankets...

(Not Pictured) Added closed cell foam padding to the front seat rail. Pretty comfy now, although I'm eagerly looking forward to the seat bottom cushion.
