Brief Description:  Main and Nose Gear

Got the shop cleaned up and rearranged. Moved the fuselage to allow for work on the gear. Then I got the main gear installed. The disks are installed on the main gear wheels, the bushings are installed on the nose gear, and the nose gear wheel is installed in the nose gear fork.
Unfortunately, picture 3 shows the nose gear plug partially installed in the nose gear tube. I sanded and filied everything down. Oiled the plug. Then froze the plug and blowtorched the tube. This resulted in jamming the plug partway into the nose gear. Good news; the part will definitely not go anywhere. Bad news; I'm going to have to hacksaw the plug apart and then drill out the chunk stuck in the nose gear.

When I order a second nose gear plug, I'm going to see if I can get it lathed just a little bit smaller. This size? Not so much.

I also spent a lot of time with Aircraft Spruce getting a replacement nose gear axle. I was shipped on 5.0" instead of 5.94", which just wasn't going to work.

Lastly, spent a lot of time working out the how the disk brakes go together and get assembled on the gear. I am seeing first hand some of the challenges a builder runs into when deviating from the design. That was a lot of hours, and I'm not 100% certain I'm done pondering the mounting scenario. That said, I like the beefy axles and the low-drag, light-weight brakes I'm installing. It may take a few more hours, but I anticipate several years of being much happier with this solution.
