Brief Description:  Bits and Pieces

Lots of bits and pieces got done yesterday and today.

Not pictured: The aileron control torque tube has been cut and primed, and the FMN-10 bearings supporting it at A2 and the main spar have been located and installed.

The first picture shows the 0.032" upper fuselage skin that runs from the instrument panel to the F2 bulkhead I'm calling the Aft Electronics Bay Bulkhead. Shown is the rig I've set up to try and induce a curve in the sheet prior to fitting, drilling, and cutting it. After this photo was taken, I cranked the straps down tighter to curl the sheet into a tube, I'm leaving it there about 24 hours to try and get it to hold the shape. It's an oversized sheet; I want to run a single continuous piece of skin to create the access panel backing for the Aft Electronics Bay Bulkhead at the front to the windscreen / longeron attachment points about 9" aft of the instrument panel. The design calls for lots of bits and pieces, and I'm trying to minimize some of that.

The second picture is one of the brackets installed on the spar to support the skin. So there's that.

The third picture is the instrument panel and Aft Electronics bay bulkhead, installed. I got the instrument panel cut and fit for my future GRT Sport EX and radio.
