The upper longerons that run from the firewall to the back of the crew compartment are formed. Holy mackerel, that was more work than I anticipated. I got used to cutting aluminum, and having tools just slide through it like butter.
Yeah, controlled bending is a lot harder. Actually, it makes me a lot more comfortable, to be able to feel the tensile strength of the angles being used for the longerons. For future reference, however much heat you think it'll take to bend the angle, that's maybe a quarter of the joules required. Keep blowtorching.
Also, a blowtorch in a closed, uninsulated garage in California is the summer? Less fun than you might imagine.
