Decided to mate the cowl with the airbox with rubber seal instead of the laid-up glass process called for by vans. The distance to bridge is only about an inch, and my method worked fine with my RV9, and saves a ton of busy work.
Sealed the cuts I made in the airbox with epoxy / micro and then glass strips on the outside.
Also applied some Aeropoxy Light to the bottom cowl to hopefully seal up the weave.
Reinstalled the exhaust system to test compatibility with airbox controls and scat tube routing.
