Brief Description: Prepped Right Elevator Trailing Edge
I cut a section of 2 X 6 wood to the recommended dimensions for a 1-1/2" trailing edge drill guide block at 84 degrees.
I then cut the trailing edge aluminum wedge to the proper length and placed it between the skins with 1/32" of the wedge tip protruding.
Using the drill guide block and a #40 drill bit, I match drilled the skins and wedge together and clecoed them to the work surface. I then dis-assembled the trailing edge, deburred all holes, dimpled skins with the pnuematic squeezer, and machine countersunk the wedge.
I will wait to rivet the trailing edge together until I have completed the left elevator, so I only have to mess with the tank sealant one time instead of two.
