Fabricated 3/4 square bow to support upper fuel tank area sheet metal. The curve of the firewall was traced onto a jig board, and a row of nails set 3/4" inside the curve. The strips were made from 1/8" douglas fir, and the glue used was "Gorilla Glue." I've been wanting to try this glue for a while, and figured this would be a good (non-critical) place to try it. (The only real function of this bow is to hold nutplates, and the screws in the nutplates will help hold the bow together. Test samples of the doug fir glued with Gorilla did quite well in my destruction tests.
