Brief Description: Completed Baggage Door Latch Blocks
I continued working on the baggage door latch blocks. I enlarged the holes from #40 to #30 while everything was still locked down.
I removed all the tape and blocks. I drilled the holes in the fuselage bulkheads and the blocks to final size and countersunk the holes for the #8 flat head screws.
I installed the blocks and ops checked the door......all works fantastic and fit is good! I am glad I ignored the directions in the Vans build instructions about drilling 5/16 holed through the rear bulkhead and the firewall and developed an olternate method to install the blocks......if something doesn't seem right you need to think it through.....even if it's in the "manual"!
Another item completed....well almost....I have to decide on something for a prop to hold the door open.....either a pneumatic or mechanical option.
