Today I deviated to various other items. I started by looking for some Cherry Max rivets that I will need in order to put the top skin on the forward canopy section. There are some rivets in the gear wells for the RV-8 that are near impossible to buck so after searching for a while I found the ones that I needed.
I then decided that it was time to countersink and rivet the skirt to the canopy frame. I spent the next session prepping the holes and installing the rivets. I countersunk them enough to be able to place a coat of filler over them to hide them. Will do that in a future session.
Finally I designed and made up a doubler plate for the hole I am making in the turtledeck for the antenna cable pass through.
A good weekend of work.....I am really trying to keep my nose to the grindstone and get this project completed as I approach the nine year mark!
