Brief Description:  Heater Cable Attachment

Back to the project after a couple weeks of dealing with life's diversions. My wife and I had to go to Florida to assist her aging aunt that is about to turn 92 years old and is having some health problems. We also attended our grand-twins birthday.

So tonight I began to stare at my heater box and figure out the cable attachment. The cable needs to attach from the right side of the lever (unless I wanted to design and fabricate a bellcrank....which I don't) in order to to have the cable knob pushed in for closed and pulled out for open. I don't want the cable pulled out when it is closed which it would be if it was on the left side.

So I finally made a decision on a design which included attaching a small piece of angle aluminum and then drilling and riveting it to the firewall angle. I will then put an adel clamp to hold the cable and route the cable in a long loop attaching it to the brake cable also in order to locate it where I want it to be.

I made the bracket and drilled and riveted it in place. Of course the more things get installed in the airplane the more difficult it is to work around everything, so it was a little challenging but I got it done!
