I finished my right mid cabin cover some time ago but never got the latch for it. My friend Jim had shown me one that I thought would work great....so I just got it in from McMaster-Carr. It is a great latch.....but it took me a bit of cypherin to get the cutout laid out and cut. The flange for the switch only leaves about .075 thousands.....a little over 1/16 inch so you can't just hack out the opening. Also you have to position it precisely because the latch engages about 1/8 inch and it pulls back about 1/4 inch so measure four times cut once. I didn't want to mess up the cover and have to make a new one....there is a lot of work in that thing!!!
So when I was satisfied with the placing and dimensions.....I cut out for the latch. All fit perfect! One more item done on the way to flying....haha
