Brief Description:  Forward Baggage Door #15

Now that I had the right lock arm, I put the lock back together and inserted the lock cylinder. I notices that the locking arms were a little bowed out where they met the cylinder lock. After looking and measuring I determined the lock was just a bit too long by less than 1/8 th of an inch.

My decision was to find another lock online or use some kind of spacer to move the head of the lock out a little. I chose the latter. I got a 1 inch diameter 304 stainless bar and threw it in the lathe in the shop and made the spacer. I made the spacer about .110 thick with a lip around it to capture the lock head diameter in order to keep it centered on the lock. Since the barrel of the lock has two flat sides it could allow the spacer to shift or be a pain to center.....so the recess solution solved both problems.

Spacer looks good and like a natural part of the lock....and stainless will keep it from corrosion.
