Brief Description:  Parking Brake Bracket and Panel Spacers

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019! Another calendar year of building (although my work on this project started in September for the true "birth date" of my work on the project.)

Anyway, I started this session by installing the instrument panel assembly back into the fuselage. My panel is a little different from the newest design in that it has a bolt that goed through the lower section of each sub-panel. Well, there is a little gap between the where the bolt attaches the instrument panel to the fuse on each side. The gap is about 1/8 inch....so I made up spacers to place in between the two to fill in the gap.

Next I made a bracket to install the parking brake. I flew my friend Ricks RV8 and the parking brake really came in handy on a few occasions. Sometimes a sloped ramp area or the wind decides that the airplane still wants to fly instead of park ans stay still.....so I bought the module and
modified the bracket from the plans drawing to be able to come up with a design that would work with the installation. The first iteration was flawed so I scrapped them. In the second iteration is the new version. I clecoed it to the Vans prepunched holes and they fit perfectly.

Oh....and I made a second one while at it for my buddy Jim who is doing the same parking brake setup. It always takes less time to make two together than making them at different times!
