I completed the operation by drilling through the rear wearplate brackets. I used the 3/8 drilled holes and bolts to locate the brackets in the correct position prior to drilling.
It's hard to see that the rear of the wearplate is bent upward, but you can see the picture with the drill and the bracket to the right of it is what prevented the pancake drill from being able to be positioned for the hole. The angle of the hole throught the bracket would have prevented it from being able to be drilled anyway. Landing gear drilling complete.
