I spent a whole lot of time messing around with the U-803 outer landing gear attach brackets. they were having an issue sliding into place very well. I did a lot of measuring and playing with them for a long time. The right gear bracket slips on good. The left one just wouldn't go. I finally called Vans and they gave me the fix to remove a very slight material from the bracket.
Well after further looking at the fit....I saw there was the smallest little bump on the landing gear that was stopping the bracket from sliding in place. I carefully used my fine dremmel sanding drum and lightly touched the high spot on the gear. Problem solved with a couple of light touches in that area. Brackets fit well now!
Ther problem I had to resolve first is that no matter how you try to get the bracket into the landing gear opening it just wouldn't fit. I ended up cutting a small notch in the gear cover attachments in order to get the corner of U-803 to clear and allow the bracket to be lowered into the gear bay.
