Brief Description:  Fuel Lines Session #3

So I got into the shop today and started once again tackling the left wing fuel line. It isn't very long but I am trying to keep the line out of the way of potential "airspace" where I want to put my small storage spaces....so I am trying to be creative on where the line goes.

I finally completed the first line for the left fuel tank version 1 but when my alter ego did the final inspection he rejected it. A few minutes were spent with my two personalities argueing about the two choices that lay before me....accept it as it is.....or remake it? Well I decided to remake it! Score one for my inspector personality. The line was by no means real bad or unacceptable and would have functioned fine.....I just didn't like it.

So I began left tank fuel line version 2. That took less time and came out great. It passed inspection from alter ego on first try!

A lot of things in building airplanes are cut and clear methods (the aluminum is cut and the plexiglas is clear....yuk yuk) what I really mean is drilling a hole, riveting, torqueing bolts, etc are all straight forward and require a low level skill set. This fuel line making is as more art as it is skill....one reason is that each line has it's own challenges to overcome....anyway, I have one line completed (twice!).
