With the blocks machined and fitted I began to secure them by drilling and tapping the blocks to secure them in place. the tubing is rigid enough for supporting the tray but really doesn't weigh much.
It is general knowledge that to go off plan on an aircraft project adds time time time....and my decision to do so concerning putting the battery in the lower forward baggage compartment in order to keep it in a less hostile environment vss the enging compartment as well as getting the weight of the battery about 14" further back and shifting the CG a little more aft. Only time will tell if it was worth the effort.
