I found out that there was a newer F-857-1 Aft Control Mount that is used with the newer RV8 kits. My kit called out to use a couple pieces of square tubing along with a piece of alum angle in order to make the rear mount. I felt that it was worth it to purchase the newer mount and use that one instead. So in this session I installed the rod ends that support the control column. It calls for on e control rod to be 1" and the other to be 7/8" distance for the control column to hang properly. It was easier to set this while the mount was off and after doing so I bolted the F-857-1 Aft Control Mount into the airplane.
