Brief Description:  Rudder stops (cont)

So using the print and the mill machine I fabricated the stops with machine shop precision. When I went to fit them in the proper location I determined that they have to actually sit slightly behind the skin edge to meet the stop limitations. When I put them where they needed to be the front rivet holes ended up falling where the rear two bulkheads are riveted together.....that makes it impossible to rivet the forward rivets in the locations on the print! I will have to remake the stops.

I took time to make hardwood spacers that would give the correct clearance for setting the rudder angle stops for left and right. I then used tape to hold the rudder against the spacers in order to get the stops fitted correctly....after all I only have two arms!
