Here is another time that comparing Vans newer RV-8 instructions and my original instructions proved helpful. My older plans simply gave a dimension from tthe F-812B hole locations to the bottom of the rear spar. The new plans give a dimension from the VS stab reinforcement rivet to a locating hole that can be used on the VS to properly position the VS. I marked and drilled the locating hole, then removed the F-812B from the deck and went in the shop and drilled the matching hole location on the mill. The result was an ability to use a cleco to locate the rear VS spar in the right location. Perfect!
