Brief Description: HS Completed and Vertical Stab start
Installed blind pop rivets into HS 405 ribs. HS complete. Performed quality inspection on HS to be sure everything was correctly in place and complete. This is the completion of my first major sub-assembly. You know it may not look like much but there is a lot of work involved in deburring, cutting, fabricating, fluting, straightening, drilling, dimpling, prepping and priming the parts that make up the aircraft. I took a few moments and just stared at the completed HS. I smiled at the quality and accomplishment of the task. I am sure an embryotic size "RV grin" was visible on my lips. I can imagine how it will feel to see the aircraft completed!!!
Moving forward, I began working on Vertical Stabilizer. Riveted spar reinforcement to VS spar. Riveted rudder hinge brackets to vs spar assembly. Lots of rivets to install. I was able to use the pneumatic squeezer on just about all of the rivets. The pneumatic squeezer is easy to set up and once set....it produces consistant quality rivets.......its AWESOME!!!!!!
