Brief Description:  More Wing Tip Work

I got back into the shop where the wings are and wanted to get some wing tip work done prior to the sun going down. I wanted to do the flange cutting outside to keep the dust down in the shop.

After setting up the bench outside I began to cut the flanges off both wing tips. I used my Dewalt oscillating saw with a half round blade on it. It is what Rick suggested and we used to cut the initial cuts on the tips.....these work real well for fiberglass work.

Using my supports and clamping the bottom of the tip down to the bench I went about cutting the flanges off to be used as spacers. I found that going "backwards" with the saw from right to left allowed me to see the line better. I stayed away from the line in order to use my aluminum fiberglass sanding blocks to finish the edges.

After doing all the cutting I went back into the shop and started clekoing the tips back on thr right wing for fitting. I still have to get some places fit a bit better so more sanding next session.
