It was a great day in the shop today with electrical guru and "spark master" Ralph Hoover. I asked him if he had time to come do a little wiring with me this weekend. Late Saturday night he he texted that he would be there at 0900 on Sunday! Whoo hoo!
He showed up at the house and we got right to work. Ralph had already drawn up the schematic but I wanted to get some mentoring from him. So he came for a great shop session and we got the two dimmers and the dimmer unit wired. There were a couple small changes Ralph made to his diagram and will send me an updated schematic after making the small changes. I learned a lot of tips and processes on the wiring and soldering....so we made some good progress AND got some "edumacation" in the process.
Of course Ralph would not leave till we did an operational test. So hook up the power supply unit and start turning on switches.....BINGO...success first time!!! The unit works great and has the ability to turn the lights totally OFF with the rheostat.....a lot of dimmer units don't have that option.
