Back in the shop today I went ahead and tackled the fairing that had cured overnight. I worked on the fglass doing all the shaping and forming then I got the openings put in for the plugs. I located the mounting ring and got it drilled and riveted in place.
Next I decided to get my NACA vent bug catchers fabricated. Due to my attention deficit personality sometimes I looked in the fusalage and happened to glimpse the NACA vent and thought.....oh I need to make the bug catcher screens. So I distracted my way down another road to get the screens made (it was actually a nice break from wiring). I purchased a piece of stainless steel screening to make them, as opposed to aluminum mainly because over the years the non-clad aluminum screens will oxidize and become brittle and fall apart eventually...yeah it may not become an issue in my time of flying the airplane....but I decided to get the stainless steel anyway. Looking through my pvc pipe selections at the house I found two pieces that would work well as a "punch and die" to form the screen to the right size. I cut a couple 4" screen squares and using a rubber mallet after centering the screen on the two pipes a couple of blows with the mallet produced the screens. Then it was using the metal shears to cut and trim the screens.
Finally I wired the connectors on the Aeroled landing/taxi lights.
