I wanted to get the connectors on the Aeroled lights that I bought for the project and make sure all was "install ready" for the lights since I have now completed the wing tips with hinges and landing light cutouts as well as the nav/strobe light mounting hardware.
I prepped the wing tip nav/strobes and got the connectors installed. The smaller .062 pins needed a little more care while crimping but I eventually got them all done.
I moved on to the tail strobe and got the fairing out. As I started to prepare the fairing to put the strobe light mount on, I realized that the fairing would require some work. The way the fiberglass was laid in the back caused there to be a hollow area due to the poor layup by the manufacturer.
Anyway, I had to cut away and remove all the messed up fiberglass with the dremmel. By the time all was said and done, I hade to prepare some fiberglass layups to patch and fix the fairing. I laid two layers of glass on the tail strobe area after cutting them out with a pattern.
