Brief Description:  Voltage Regulator Ground Wires

I believe I have the majority of wire routing holes and passages completed. There is no doubt a few more will need to be made but they should be mostly done.

So tonight was the night to start running wires! I began with the two voltage regulators. I have a main and backup alternator for my airplane which requires two individual regulators. The regulators require redundant grounds....one for the regulator case and one for the internal circutry. The grounds are not to be "daisy chained" or jumped into a single ground....installation calls for keeping them separate.

I gathered my tools, labeler, and wire connectors and began to connect wires. It was fairly straight forward to cut, crimp, label and attach the 18 gauge wire to the connectors.

I am using "wire lacing" in order to bundle the wires and secure them from flopping around. I had never tied lacing so I looked it up in AC 43.13-1B Chapter 11 Section 12. Looking at the illustration I practiced tying the lacing around a small pipe a couple times until I got it straight in my head.

After the lacing self study session I tied the real wires that I had connected to the regulators. So I guess we are off and running (wire that is....).
