Brief Description:  Electrical compartment mounting panel #3

I continued playing around with configuring the locations on the electrical compartment mounting panel that I fashioned for the sundry electrical contactors and other components that will have to go into this area. I am seeking to lay them out for the best location that the wires which will connect to them will route without getting in each others way. As I laid out the components I drew wire routing to see how the connections would fall....then made adjustments as I saw fit.

When finally satisfied with the layout I decided to get the Master Contactor and the Starter Contactor mounted. I made the panel such that I would be able to mount all the components with nutplates onto the panel and then mount the panel into the airplane. With the approximately 1/2 inch space behind the panel it prevented me from mounting everything onto the firewall itself. I didn't want to drill all those mounting holes on the firewall and would much rather maintain the integrity to the firewall as much as possible. Not only is stainless tougher to work with but it is better to have stainless in front than other metals. Stainless melts at about 2750 F, Steel 2500 F, and Aluminum 1200 F.....so stainless is best between you and the engine!
