So once again I have been doing planning work to get ready to start the electrical wiring. I have been going through and making a list on an Excel sheet that my friend Jim provided me removing items and inserting other items. I have two sets of landing lights...Duckworks leading edge lights that came with the airplane and Aeroleds lights that go in the wingtips. It will be lit up like an airliner!
I went through boxes and pulled out manuals to see what I need for fuses/CB's and the electrical draw on the system. When I bought the airplane kit from the previous owner, the pitot tube was already installed and I never thought much about it. Well....I should have looked at it.....because the pitot tube box and the information stamped on the pitot tube itself shows that someone purchased and installed a 24 VOLT pitot tube. I mean seriously VERY FEW small aircraft utilize 24 volt systems!!! Anyway, a call to Falcon that makes the pitot and I am trying to beg for mercy and see if there is anything they can do to give me a break on a 12 volt pitot head....sheesh!
Using the Klixon profile I began to layout the breakers that I have room to install on the cockpit side panel I made. It looks like I can get 18 CB's on the panel in addition to the 24 slot fuse block. Funny thing is I am not sure that will be enough....hmmmm....still calculating that number.
I have an order of electrical stuff coming in that I ordered after doing inventory. My backordered control cables for the oil cooler and heat box came in this week.
Also my friend Rick sent me a link for Bob Nuckolls new Z101 electrical schematic. I am not really keen on it....BUT I do like one element and that is the Clearance Delivery circuit. I use to use this feature when I flew King Airs....it is nice as you don't have to fire up all the avionics to get a clearance. I think I am planning on putting the PDF and Remote radio on that circuit....we will see.
