Brief Description:  Fuse/CB panel (cont)

I continued to develop the design for my Fuse/CB panel. I worked on the bottom angle. I wanted it to be fairly parallel with the top of the mid-cabin cover so it would be easy on the eyes as opposed to some obtuse angle.

I knew I wanted a two inch clearance from the mid-cabin cover to give ample room to remove and install the cover. After cutting the angle and getting it set up I marked and drilled the rivet holes that will be match drilled to the fuse skin when I am satisfied with it.

If you notice in the two pics there are secondary angles that will be attached to the main angles. They serve a couple purposes. First, they will have the nutplates for the front cover. Secondly, they will be moved out to about two inches to give room for CB's. The CB's are just about 1.5 inches long which would give a half inch of clearance to the back of the breaker for wires and/or bus bars. Thirdly, the top angle causes the panel to canter both vertically and laterally as the fuselage is both curved and narrows from front towards rear. I will have to drop lines to align the angles so the front cover will sit flat.....yeah, it takes a little cypherin but should be fairly straightforward.
