Brief Description:  Oil Cooler Removed to Paint Frame

So I have kicked myself in the backside for a while because in all my haste to get the oil cooler bracket made and installed (done over two years ago!!!!) I just simply overlooked priming and painting the components of the mounting brackets.

Yesterday I decided to rip it all off and get it painted. I decided to paint the firewall bracket "on the airplane" as the left side bolt has a spacer and I didn't want to mess around with that...especially since I have the electrical bay full of stuff....it is doable but less work to mask and paint it on the firewall. Anyway all the parts are painted and drying.

I then spent a little time looking at and pondering working the top skin sides where they meet the canopy skirt. I decided that shims on both side will bring the skin to where it is needed in order to make the transition for the fiberglass....at least that is what I think will be the best thing to do!?

The whole windscreen install and canopy transition with the fiberglass has been like swimming through molasses for me.....I am trying to wade through the process but it seems a bit arduous. Nonetheless this too will eventurlly be conquered.....
